Snacking is a part of our daily lives and finding healthier alternatives to the choices we make during snack time is important so that we don't find ourselves reaching for more, having mood swings, fatigue, and overeating. Eating healthy snacks is the best option to get optimum energy.
Sugary, salty snack foods like crisps, cakes, pastries, biscuits, sweets and chocolate should be limited to once a week. Take away foods such as pastries, pizza, fried fish, hamburgers, hot chips, creamy pasta dishes should not be consumed frequently.
Healthy snacks include a piece of fresh fruit, a handful of dried fruit, up to a cup of canned fruit or a handful of plain unsalted nuts. Below is a list of some healthy snacks to eat:
• Almonds or other dry fruits

• Boiled eggs

Healthy eating and exercise go hand in hand. Regular exercise should be made a part of life just as a healthy diet. The following list will give a brief idea about the exercise and their healthy eating tip.
• Walking: Walking is a great form of exercise. If 2 miles are covered in a day, then it is very good, or walking on a pedometer will also help.
Eating tip- Eating an oat based cereal for breakfast, before walking will give slow burning energy.
• Running or Jogging: Running or jogging requires training also, because it may harm oneself if there is a sudden change from a no exercise regime to strenuous exercise.
Eating tip- Drinking water both before or after exercising, and also for every 15 minutes of exercise.
• Cycling: Another pleasurable form of exercise is cycling provided there is less traffic
Eating tip- Having a meal of pasta or rice at least one hour before cycling. Food should be low in fat and have less sugar.
